Regulations and Entry Forms attached for the forthcoming Birr Turkey Chaser Autotest on Tuesday 28 December 2021.
A fun packed day of autotesting is assured. The venue is Garahys Garage, Birr, Co Offaly.
Tests are Simple, easy to remember and will be suitable for Multi Venue, Endurance, Retro and Road Cars. Tests will be on mixed surfaces.
All drivers must have a valid Competition Licence or 1 Event Licence which are available for this Autotest. NO IRDS is required.
Please note: 1 Event Licences must be pre-booked in advance.
Covid Requirments
- Face masks are mandatory in all areas.
- Social distancing when in groups.
- Ample Hand sanitizer stations will be in operation but all attendees must bring their own sanitizer.
- Each person must have their own pen.
- Drivers Briefing will held under strict social distancing rules and will be outdoors.
- Double driven cars must be sanitized in between runs.
- Ample Covid signage on display and strict policing by Covid officers and all event officials.

Monday evening last in the County Arms Hotel Birr was the base for the annual Vintage Week Tom O'Reilly Memorial Car Treasure Hunt organised by the Birr & District Motor Club.
52 Cars took part on a route through Riverstown, Lougheen, Curralanty, Sharavogue, Kilcolman, Cree and finishing at the Miletree. Clues were entertaining & challenging. Derval Scully emerged a popular winner on 685 Marks, Runner Up went to Eamon Horan on 650 Marks with Joint 3rd Overall going to Breda Loughnane & Martina Foley both finishing on 640 points. The maximum score was 860 points.
The Birr & District Motor would to thank the residents along the route for there patience and understanding along with Michael Parkinson, Tom O'Brien, Pat Corcoran, Eoin Longworth, Mick Boland, Gerry McLoughlin, Michael & Marie Louise Tumulty, Kieran & Una O'Brien, The Horan Family, Pat, Noelle & Tristan and John Tynan for their assistance.
The Birr & District Motor Club Car Treasure Hunt has been part of the Birr Vintage & Arts Festival since its inception in 1968.
Tom O'Reilly Memorial Car Treasure Hunt - Monday 16th August
- Start & Finish: County Arms Hotel, Birr, Co Offaly.
- Check In from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.
- Entry Fee €15.
- Part of Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival.
- Face Masks are compulsory in Hotel and along the Route.
- Social Distancing must be adhered to at all times.
- Hand Sanitizer in Sign On Location but participants are asked to carry their own.
- Only 1 Person per Team allowed to Register at Check In.
- Participants are allowed 3 Hours to complete the hunt. – Time OUT and Time IN will be issued at Check In.
- Distance 25KM
- Great evening’s fun and enjoyment for all the family.
- All Clues will be visible from the Car.
- Clue Answer Sheets to be returned to Hotel Lobby.
- Correcting & Results compiled in the Hotel.
- Results and Solutions to be posted on Facebook, Website and Local Media.
- (Optional) Participants Answer Sheets may be returned to Competitors via Post if required.
